What are the differences between Gestational and Traditional Surrogacy?

Gestational Surrogacy is a surrogate who is not genetically connected to the child she is carrying for the Intended Parents. The eggs are retrieved from the Intended Mother or an Egg Donor, are fertilized with the prospective father’s sperm or sperm donor, and then transferred to the Surrogate’s womb.
 
By contrast, Traditional Surrogacy is a surrogate who also donates her eggs and has biological link to the child she is carrying for the Intended Parents. The surrogate undergo artificial insemination or IVF with sperm from a sperm donor. ​

Surrogates are from all different backgrounds who want to help others. All must be prescreened and meet certain requirements before they can be matched with their families. We work hard with surrogate mothers to complete screening process and determine their eligibility requirements.

Have previously carried at least one healthy pregnancy with no major complications
Receive no governmental assistance
Be able to travel to and from appointments

Complete a psychological evaluation

How often do surrogates successfully conceiving a pregnancy?

Every pregnancy is unique, but in general, our overall pregnancy success rate is around 88%, with 70% successes on the first attempt. One of the most contributing factors in a success pregnancy is the quality of the egg and that is also why we require each egg comes from women in optimal age range.

We match you with Surrogates based on your needs and desires to make sure both of you share similar beliefs, interests, etc. We make sure what is the most important to both of you and after completing the profiles in details, you will share your personal views on various aspects of Surrogacy. We will present you to view all of our available profiles and identify a Surrogate you are interested We will help you choose. Once you have chosen a Surrogate Mother you are interested in we will share your profile with her and set up a meeting either via phone or in person. Once both of you agree to work together we consider you to be matched!

How long does the whole surrogacy process take?

The length of the process can depend on many factors. Once we have your initial consultation ready, you will be able to start viewing Surrogate profiles immediately.  A match can be made when both Intended Parents has spoken to the desired Surrogate Mother and both have agreed to work together. This can be quicker as 1-2 weeks or longer depending on the legal requirements involved and the course of the IVF treatment. Sometimes, matching can occur almost instantly, though other times it can take a few months before the right people have the opportunity to meet

What are the chances of success with surrogacy?

Surrogacy success rates are influenced by the IVF clinic you work with, the health and viability of the embryo you use and the health and fertility history of your surrogate. 
You can determine your chances of a successful pregnancy at the fertility center. In addition, IVF clinics have a surrogacy success rate of 75% in the U.S. most of the time, doctors will perform multiple embryo transfers until a healthy pregnancy is achieved, making the overall surrogacy success rate very high.

Where is surrogacy legal?

Surrogacy is legal in many states in the U.S, however, each state has its own legality of surrogacy agreements. For instance, some states do not recognize non-biological parents, or same-sex couples. In California, surrogacy is legal, and the state is viewed as highly “surrogacy friendly” because the process is allowed for all families,  whether married, unmarried, LGBT, or single parent. However, there are many states in which the legal process is similar, or just as good, to that in California. Before you receive the profile of a potential surrogate, we will have already done the work of consulting with the surrogacy law and to verify that the surrogate is the resident of surrogacy-friendly state and matches your legal requirements.

Where will the Surrogate Mother give birth?

The Surrogate Mother will give birth to your child(ren) at a hospital that is local to where she resides. This is most likely the hospital where she has given birth to her own children.

What is the purpose of a Surrogacy Agreement?

The purpose of this legal document is to allow each party to state their intentions and their responsibilities to one another.  It is made to protect the rights and responsibilities of intended parents and the gestational surrogates.The agreement will clearly state that the Surrogate does not intend on parenting any resulting child(ren) and does not wish to have physical or legal custody of any resulting child(ren).
