Gestational Surrogacy is a surrogate who is not genetically connected to the child she is carrying for the Intended Parents. The eggs are retrieved from the Intended Mother or an Egg Donor, are fertilized with the prospective father’s sperm or sperm donor, and then transferred to the Surrogate’s womb. By contrast, Traditional Surrogacy is a surrogate who also donates her eggs and has biological link to the child she is carrying for the Intended Parents. The surrogate undergo artificial insemination or IVF with sperm from a sperm donor. ​

Generally, an infectious disease test, nicotine test, blood test and a drug use test will be given after the initial application screening process. However, it depends on the IVF clinics to determine which specific tests are required. During the process of pregnancy, a couple of standard medical tests are conducted.

Surrogates are required to take medications, two months before and two months after the embryo transfer, per the instructions of the IVF clinic. Compensation is provided during this time for taking the prescribed medications.

After the completion of the required and necessary paperwork and initial review of medical records, the matching process will take anywhere from a few days to few weeks. We are diligent about our matching process and take every precaution to ensure that the surrogates share similar expectations with the Intended Parents. Our staff will ensure that both parties are satisfied and comfortable with the established agreements.

Yes! If you currently live in any one of the Surrogacy-Friendly States, you are welcome to submit an application. Please don't hesitate to email us any questions regarding surrogacy laws and policies of the state in which you currently reside.

No! PrimeSurro and Intended Parents are responsible for all the travel expenses required for medical screening and checkups during the pregnancy journey. After you are matched with your Intended Parents, they will pay all the travel expenses throughout your surrogacy. Upon the initial matching, you will travel to their chosen IVF clinic for your first medical screening and examination. After the transfer of embryo, you will return to your state of residence and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy journey.

Yes! You may become a surrogate after "having your tubes tied." A tubal ligation will not prevent a successful embryo implantation in your uterus. In fact, having a tubal ligation ensures you will not become pregnant with your own child during the fertility process.

Yes! After your application has been processed and you have passed all the medical screening examinations, you will need to have the IUD removed before moving on to the next stage. After the removal of IUD, you will need to have at least one menstrual cycle before the matching process begins.

At PrimeSurro, we provide supportive services before, during and after the surrogacy journey. Each surrogate is assigned to work with a case coordinator who ensures that every question or concern is answered promptly. Throughout your journey, your supporting team member will contact you as much as needed, usually each week, in order to handle any emotional or physical concerns which may occur. Our professional psychologists conduct necessary psychological testing and assessments periodically to ensure your good mental health and comfort. Yes! After the process of the embryo transfer at the assigned IVF clinic, the majority of our surrogates continue their prenatal visits and receive care from their regular OBGYN throughout their pregnancy journey.

The reasons a woman chooses to become a surrogate are unique to each individual. Surrogates are given the opportunity to help a family with a child that they cannot carry themselves. For many of our surrogate mothers, it is this selfless act that is their sole motivation. Other surrogates just enjoy being pregnant and giving life. Carrying a child for the intended parents is a gift that they relish sharing.

No! Any pregnancy-related costs, whether it is incurred before or during the pregnancy stage, will be reimbursed by our Intended Parents. This includes, but is not limited to, medical expenses, maternity clothes, traveling expenses and loss of income. Additionally, incidental expenses are covered by a monthly allowance.

Your health and safety are our primary concern. PrimeSurro requires each Intended Parent to pass the required medical screening exam to prevent any possible transmitted diseases to our surrogates and we only work with the top IVF clinics and Fertility Doctors in Southern California. All of our precautionary measures ensure that surrogates will not contract any diseases during the embryo transfer process.

It is possible that it may take more than one IVF cycle to become pregnant. The average success transfer rate is roughly 70%. Surrogates will have the right to decide whether they wish to continue to attempt the next IVF cycle. The majority of Intended Parents will encourage the surrogate to attempt up to three complete IVF cycles. Throughout the entire IVF and embryo transfer process, our Intended Parents will reimburse and provide any needed compensation and monthly allowance.

Based on the treating doctor's written advice, the surrogate is compensated if she is required to be on bed rest. This includes, but is not limited to, childcare expenses, lost wages and housekeeping expenses. If any unexpected medical complications occur, our Intended Parents are responsible for the corresponding compensation and expenses related to the complications.
